Local training providers where possible, give opportunities to some Year 10 students to ‘Try a Trade’. This three day introductory construction course provides students with an opportunity to learn basic skills and engage in hands-on experiences in the following trades – bricklaying, plastering, tiling and carpentry. Students can apply for places as they become available to the school, although parents are responsible for transport to and from the venues.
